Education for Children
The children of our world are the future of humanity. By supporting children we are helping both the generation of today as well as the generations of tomorrow. Aside from this, children are also the most intuitive and observant human beings by their own general nature. For the vast majority of people, the events that occur in a childhood years of life are the most significant events. This is because physiological, developmental, psychological and even spiritual growth are all at their peak from year one to the late teenage years. Children are also highly susceptible to the environment, and the child can be just as much influenced by a positive atmosphere as well as by a negative one.
Unfortunately there is a large population of children in India who live in impoverished conditions and suffer from hunger and a wide variety of inacceptable conditions. Child labor is also prominent in India and can be seen throughout the vast majority of cities and villages in India. Some situations for children reached to the extent of sex slavery and export child labor. This is, without a doubt, grotesquely uncommendable and must be confronted through social, organizational, and individually based initiatives.
The Tureya foundation supports children in several ways: firstly, the ashram organizes intermittent activities and camps for children to teach them about nature as well as spirituality and creativity. We also provide scholarships for children who live in poverty and do not have the means to pay for an education. Scholarships are provided based upon teacher recommendations and are individually selected in order to help the children that need it the most and who are the deeply dedicated to their studies. Finally, the ashram also offers classes based upon the gurukul system of Indian tradition which trains children in all aspects of life from job application to spirituality and mindfulness.
Part of every donation given to the ashram is used towards our activities to help promote education and social equality for children. It is also used for immediate relief programs like free meal schemes and basic healthcare for children and young adults. This is part of our ongoing community effort to promote socially justice, human rights, and gender equality in which we encourage every student to be a part of.
Some volunteer positions are available for those who are interested in medical care as well as child education. Typically we only accept qualified individuals who have prior experience in education or medicine, however we welcome all candidates to submit a proposal if they wish to participate in our volunteer efforts. If you have qualifications in medical care or education, please let us know as your contribution to our community effort can significantly improve the quality of life for children and families in India.
