Retreats & Workshops
Take time away from your daily routine to intensively explore elements of health, healing, rejuvenation, peace, balance, and spirituality under the supportive environment of the ashram. Our retreat and workshop programs are designed to give you the guidance, training, and care necessary to take your life to the next level of wellness and spiritual development.
In the world today millions of people are using yoga as a means to transform elements of their lives. Yoga’s diverse compilation of techniques, systems, philosophies, and methodologies make it one of the most dynamic systems for discovering the unified and integral design of human nature. By acting through multi-layered and systematic practices, yoga joins together the disseminated parts of human life to create a holistic state of awareness and existence.
The Tureya Ashram and its staff flow from the teachings of Swamiji and the mystic lineage of spirituality from India. Revelation is created by synchronizing the human mind and body with the universal consciousness that dwells within us. From here all facets of life open to their greater potential; mind, energy, physical body, and spirit align with the spiritual essence to elevate life to I higher level of existence and awareness.
Relative to tradition, we would consider our ashram traditional from the spiritual sense but progressive in approach and application. All of what we teach at the ashram is derived from the sacred traditions of India, but we have redirected the application of the practice to accommodate the evolving trends of humankind and their physical, emotional, and psychological needs. In light of progressive trends, retreats create a formidable alternative to the extended seclusion of traditional ashram living as they provide specialized exposure to spiritual practices and techniques which can then be applied anywhere in the world, wherever the yogi or yogini may be. This comes from the foundation of Tantric Philosophy. Tantra teaches that a yogi is one who mentally renounces the world without having to physically renounce anything. And it is true, physical renunciation means nothing; you can still crave, desire, or be attached to an object even if it is not within your physical possession or environment. Therefore give up your bondage to things mentally; this is where the suffering comes from. Than you can live in any environment with any possessions and still rest in your essential and divine nature. Use the retreats as an immersion in a new way of living, than take this with you to your home and begin to start shaping your life around the spiritual dimension of the universe.
As the ashram does not function from religious premises, our retreats and workshop are engaged with a wide range of focuses and technical intensities. Between the various designs and practices contained within our retreats, most people will be able to find a supportive foundation to advance in their practice of yoga. We accentuate the fact that the ashram is non-religious because we believe that all religions express an essential truth, yet there is no one religion that works for all. Instead, the yoga we focus upon is based around disciplinary techniques which can be applied to any religious philosophy (or lack thereof). Go beyond your body, beyond your mind, and become your blissful self. This is yoga.
