Evolving Spiritual Nature

Life is just a course through the many mysteries of the universe. Because of the infinite diversity of nature, there are likewise infinite possibilities for learning and experiencing even within just one lifetime. Some people take classes on family life, others on femininity, some on living in cities, while others cooperating with nature for agriculture; the list could go on indefinitely. And in our many life lessons certain qualities about our character, perspective, and awareness begin to distinguish us from everyone else and through this we become the individual human being.

If stock markets are there to make you wealthy and food to nourish your body, mothers to give you love and support and houses to cover your head, Yoga is here to evolve your spiritual nature. All of the techniques, trainings, ideologies, and lessons found in yoga are there to take you closer to your spirit essence. Here our goal is not money, not fame, nor fortune but inner development and expanding perception. You may become wealthy, you may become popular, but you as a yogi are always focused on resting within the inner sanctuary of the soul. The world is there, and it is beautiful, but we ultimately we have nothing but the spirit in the in. This is why yoga says do not worry about the other things in life; they will come and go. Dwell within your spiritual nature and life will always be fruitful and blissful.

Want to know a secret about your inner nature? All the desires that you have for the outer world stem from the greatest desire of reunion with the inner divinity. This is the yogic conception of desire. Relative to the human being, energy has a tendency to flow outwards: emotions, thoughts, beliefs, perceptions, sensations, and experience are all drawn to and identified with the outer world. In fact, the mind would be nothing without the outer world. Put a human being through complete sensory deprivation and the mind will become disoriented, manifesting hallucinations just to keep itself occupied.

When we focus on the spiritual dimension of our lives we discover that all the energy we have invested in the outer world begins to contract inwards. When it does our old desires and dependency upon the outer world naturally fade into the background and our awareness connects to something internal. This internal connection does not rise out of necessity, because if it did everyone would be going inwards. Instead the internal connection happens because it creates a sense of joy, bliss, and satisfaction that had never been experienced before with awareness focused externally. Life becomes fulfilled on a totally different level.

Yoga teaches us how to see the world through the light of a higher universal principle. We connect with the ever present moment. What does eternal mean? Eternal does is not a very very long period of time. No! Eternal means always, the always is here right now at this very moment. You are the eternal and there is no alternative to this. But we miss our omnipresent nature because we have distracted ourselves through other experiences life has to offer. In doing so we are neither sinners nor transgressors, we just have not had the chance yet to experience the really divinity of existence.

Evolving in your spirit does not mean you have to give up the world. Instead when you move into the lessons of the spirit everything becomes meaningful and beautiful. And in this experience is tremendous joy, tremendous peace for there is nothing but the heavenly abode to surround you both inside and outside!
